October 20th is the Deadline for Tennessee Contractor License Applications
The Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors meets on November 19, 2024. If you are applying for a contractor’s license in the state of Tennesee, your application must be completed before this meeting to be considered by the board. This will be the last meeting for 2024. The board meets at least six times annually, ensuring representation across the state's Middle, East, and West regions.
Deadline Dates for Contractor License Applications
For your Tennessee contractor’s license application to be considered at the next board meeting, your application must be completed and received by October 20, 2024. Revised applications must be received by October 31, 2024.
(Note: LLE and LLP applications are not reviewed by the Board unless there are felony, judgments, or complaints on file.) See TCA § 62-6-111 and Rule 0680-1-.02 on the "Law and Rules" for additional information on deadline dates. For those failing to meet the deadline date provision, you may qualify for hardship consideration.
Do You Need a Reviewed Financial Statement?
Pursuant to TCA 62-6-111, if you are applying for a Tennessee Contractor’s License with a monetary limit of up to three million dollars, you must provide a reviewed financial statement with your application.
