Tennessee Contractors: Upcoming Deadline for License Applications and Renewals

The Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors meets at least six times annually, ensuring representation across the state's Middle, East, and West regions. These meetings are open to the public, fostering transparency in the licensing process. The meeting schedule for the rest of 2024 is as follows:

  • July 30, 2024, 9:30 AM - Meeting (Nashville, Davy Crockett Tower, Conf Rm 1-A, 500 James Robertson Pkwy.)

  • July 30, 2024, 11:00 AM - Formal Hearing (Nashville, Davy Crockett Tower, Conf Rm 1-A, 500 James Robertson Pkwy.)

  • September 24, 2024, 9:30 AM - Meeting (East TN, Location TBA)

  • November 19, 2024, 9:30 AM - Meeting (Nashville, Davy Crockett Tower, Conf Rm 1-A, 500 James Robertson Pkwy.)

Deadline Dates for Contractor License Applications

Tennessee contractor license applications and renewals are considered at each board meeting. To be considered, your application must be complete and received by the 20th of the month prior to the next board meeting. Revised applications must be received by the last day of the month prior to the next board meeting.

For example, the next meeting is Tuesday, July 30, 2024. The deadline date for the State of Tennessee to receive your application to obtain a new contractor's license is June 20th, 2024. Revision requests (increases, add classes, mode changes, etc.,) are due in the office by Wednesday, July 31, 2024. (Note: LLE and LLP applications are not reviewed by the Board unless there are felony, judgments, or complaints on file.) For those failing to meet the deadline date provision, you may qualify for hardship consideration.

Reviewed Financial Statements for Tennessee Contractor’s License Applications
